“My wife, Talia and I have been looking for a home in the Tempe/Chandler area of Phoenix Arizona, since December 2013. Brian Neugebauer at RE/MAX Excalibur has been our realtor during this time. We moved across the continent from Montreal, QC, Canada due to employment.

During our many property visits; Brian has been very gracious with his time in answering our numerous questions. He has also provided a great deal of useful insight into Arizona home construction from his vast knowledge in carpentry and home renovation. Brian is very patient of our meticulous nature; as analytical scientists, my wife and I heavily scrutinize all aspects and details of potential homes. We are most certainly some of Brian’s more scrupulous clients, and yet he has always greeted us with the same warm friendly nature as on our first property visit.

Fairly recently, my wife and I proposed an offer on a property that was accepted by the seller. After reading through the HOA’s CC&R document, we had strong reservations against the amount of restrictions placed on the home owner, and thus rescinded our offer. It was a very emotional time for us as we were left with two options: find a non-HOA home in Phoenix, an arduous task no doubt, or move once again to another city.

Brian had spent many months helping us find a home. At this point, I fully expected him to tell us that finding a non-HOA home in Phoenix with our conditions would be extremely difficult. I imagine he would then wish us luck in doing so on our own.

Instead, Brian surprisingly said (and I am quoting his exact words) “You know what? I’m going to stick with you guys until either we find you a non-HOA home in Phoenix, or you decide to move on to another city. We’re like family, and I’m not going to abandon you guys because I know we’re going to find something for ya.” This is the perfect example of going well beyond one’s responsibilities to satisfy clients with such narrow home requirements, and fully illustrates the excellent RE/MAX mentality.

We strongly believe that Brian’s determination, attention to detail, and gentle nature should earn him a place in RE/MAX Hall of Fame once again this year, as he certainly deserves it.”
